BOLD selected 4 interior trends for 2017

Numerous lists with trends for 2017 have been published in these first months of the new year. BOLD selected his 4 favourites.

One: Brave drama

Luxurious interiors are hot again. Forget sleek, cool, clean and pastels. Think warm colours, dramatic patterns, heavy drapes, velvet and gold, lots of gold! What we especially remember is that trendwatchers like to combine luxury with sturdy to create a coherent and mature interior. Or, as they call it, ‘The New Romantics’.

Two: Cork

Another comeback kid: cork. Not only is cork a stylish material idea that adds warmth and texture to spaces, it’s also ideal for absorbing noise in our homes. You will find hundreds of cork-applications in 2017. We predict that you will see so much cork everywhere that soon enough you will get sick of it. But the material is so all-round that we don’t want to ignore it. Look for the most original uses or combinations of cork and sturdy stone.

Three: Green

Submerge your house in an oasis of greenery and you are completely 2017-proof! Create an ‘urban jungle’, paint your walls green, … We for sure are fans. A metal locker surrounded by plants for example is the top. By the way, did you know that all machinery, furniture, … in old factories was painted in the exact same green?

Four: Antique and unique

2017 includes an emphasis on uniquely crafted furniture. It is over and out with DIY projects and cheap interim solutions. According to Vogue people will be going back to furniture that is more of an investment—furniture that is very well-made. Vogue recommends us to go antique shopping for pieces that will add character to our home. Who are we to contradict Vogue?
